Your memories of these video game characters’ rage are just as strong as your memories of the games they appear in.
As with any story, video games have a lot of different types of characters, from cool and remote but strong main characters to silly sidekicks and clearly evil bad guys. Some games, especially ones aimed at older kids, also have one or two characters who have trouble controlling their anger, which can lead to more violence or, in lighter situations, funny moments.
The characters in video games who get the most angry often become famous for famous lines they say when they’re angry or for crazy times in the game where their anger takes over.
Doom Slayer (DOOM Series)
For fans, Doom Slayer is also known as “the Doom Guy.” He is the main character of the intense action series Doom. His acts show that, even though he is the strong, quiet type, he is also one of the most angry video game characters.
After seeing his pet rabbit get cut up, Doom Slayer takes out his anger on any demons that get in his way, not holding them hostage and sometimes ripping them apart with his bare hands. He is like a character in a video game who fights for what’s right but is mean about it.
Fawful (Mario & Luigi Series)
Nintendo’s most popular series is mostly fun and silly, but there are a few surprisingly dark Mario characters spread out across the series. The Beanish bad guy Fawful from the Mario & Luigi series is one of the most evil characters and also one of the most angry.
When bad things happen to Fawful, he loses his cool quickly and lashes out in angry fits. He often interrupts his own speech with pointless jabs, which are probably caused by his own anger and flaws.
Ricardo Diaz – Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
This is how a small man with too much power and anger problems should be: Ricardo Diaz from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. He is usually very angry about something or someone in every scene, and he vents his rage by yelling at and breaking the thing that is making him mad.
Ricardo Diaz never once thought that he might be to blame, no matter how small the problem was. He always found someone else to blame. Because of these small flaws, Ricardo Diaz is now one of the most annoying GTA characters ever.
Mr. Resetti -(Animal Crossing Series)
Most angry video game characters are highly unhappy and live in violent and hopeless worlds. But Mr. Resetti from the Animal Crossing series only wants the player to be happy because they can’t save the game.
He keeps telling players to save their games before turning off their devices, and each time they don’t, he gets more angry. Most of the time, Mr. Resetti’s anger is limited to words, but based on Eggy Car, he has been known to punish players by making them do something simple.
Kratos – God Of War Series
There may be some characters with worse anger control problems than Kratos in God of War, but he is by far the most famously angry video game character. In fact, the words anger and angry are now used to mean the same thing. These feelings come from the wrong that the gods did to Kratos, and they are what make him want to get payback.
Kratos, unlike most people, knows how angry he is and knows that it can be used as a tool if it is kept in check. He tries to teach his son Atreus this. However, his anger is always present, and there are times when he is unable to control it. This makes Kratos make some terrible snap choices throughout the God of War series.
Trevor Philips – Grand Theft Auto 5
Trevor Philips in Grand Theft Auto 5 is a lot of things, and one of them is angry. Even though Trevor has some good traits, he is a very unhappy person who doesn’t feel bad about violently expressing his anger at other people. He acts on impulse a lot of the time and is quick to blame others and punish them as well.
This is clear right away, when Trevor loses it and attacks a man before going on a rampage that targets all of the man’s friends. Trevor’s past is also full of stories about terrifying spurts of anger, but he seems to enjoy telling these tales. When playing Grand Theft Auto 5, players will often see Trevor’s problems controlling his anger, even if they are just walking around as him.
Asura – Asura’s Wrath
One of the angstiest video game characters of all time is without a doubt Asura from Asura’s Wrath. If the game’s name doesn’t give it away, the action adventure is all about Asura’s rage and how it drives him to save his daughter and get payback.
His anger is so strong that he can’t control it. It’s like a natural force. Even though Asura keeps dying, he is so angry that he keeps rising from the dead and getting stronger each time. Even though Asura’s Wrath isn’t an anime game, each level feels like a full-on anime show, and Asura definitely has that over-the-top anger that some anime characters are known for.
